Called Shawn and he told me to put the unit on Fan so the ice melts so that he can work on it once he gets here. Got here, found out that the belt was bad. One is very old (Carrier) the 2nd (Amer Std) has 10 years. WOW! THUS GUY IS A GENIUS, A REAL PRO! For years, weve had a high humidity problem and resulting mildew problems (despite no water leaks in walls/roof/foundation). 1st, he stated with complete honesty that to implement our idea would be very very expensive, too expensive, and not effective - so we conceded (smart); 2nd, he solved our humidity issue (to him it was not complicated). Our old HVAC guy used to just shrug his shoulders and say I have no idea!. Shawn knew what to do. Humidity/mildew odor problem solved. Thank you Shawn!
