Weve tried other AC companies before, but none compare to John at Taurus. After we lost power, John came out the same day. It turned out we needed a new coil, but John managed to provide a temporary fix to keep us cool until the next day, despite our late evening call. His prices were half of what other companies charged. John is 100% honest and doesnt try to sell you unnecessary items. He even walked me through general maintenance, something most companies would charge for. Now he is our families AC Guy even the installers that came out are friendly.

We starting using Taurus Mechanical a few years ago. We are always pleased with the service. When our AC went out late one evening John replied immediately and came first thing the next morning to fix it.

Not enough stars to rate. John is awesome and honest. A company quoted is huge amount for repairs that were unnecessary and didnt make sense. John came in and fixed it for a fraction of the cost and took out the time to explain everything. Will do business again.

I have used Taurus several times and have invariably dealt with two people---the owner John and his associate, Robert. They are both exceptional. Courteous, responsive, honest and really good at what they do. After trying many HVAC people, they have become my go-to simply because they are extremely honest and this is something I have had trouble with a few others I have dealt with. I usually dont write reviews but a recent incident has prompted me to post something. On Christmas eve, the coldest day in Houston, my elderly parents heating broke down. We were very concerned if someone will come on Christmas eve. Not only were Taurus extremely responsive, they assured me that despite the large number of calls they plan to leave no one without heat. As promised, they (Robert in this case) arrived on time. It turned out to be a very minor issue so was resolved within a minute. Since it was so minor they refused payment (--in fact, I had to insist on giving them something). I have used them both for my house as well as my parents. I strongly recommend them!

This HVAC company stands out as the absolute best I have encountered. Previously, I had an experience with another company that charged me $49 just to inform me that they were unable to assist. In stark contrast, John and his team demonstrated remarkable professionalism. What a fantastic business!!! It was highly recommended to me by an extraordinarily professional auto repair service owner who services my car, and Taurus Mechanical, Inc. really did an incredible job for me. They perfectly determined the best economical way to fix my heater system, and they were extremely fair with everything. John took my call and exhibited a great mastery of his profession. And Kevin did an absolute outstanding job of repairing my heater.Other companies were telling me all kinds of details that were either completely untrue and/or very suspicious (including a highly awarded Houston company,) and one of their techs that checked out my heater was totally off base with his final analysis!! Naturally, he recommended the most unnecessary and expensive course of action to resolve my heater problem!!!I say buyer beware everywhere about everything!!! My thermostat went out on Mother’s Day morning, so my AC didn’t work.😬 Thermostat was old and quit working but they were at my house Monday morning and quickly replaced it. Great service and prices! Had an issue with my fan motor on my unit and John was prompt in getting back to me and Kevin was able to come out to check things out as fast as they could. Had to get the fan motor replaced and Kevin tried to see if the motor was still under warranty and it was but because it was under the previous owner name, he couldnt get them to fulfill the warranty. Just glad that he tried though and he did an great job installing the new motor and accessing the system to see how things were working. He noticed that the unit had low freon so he helped us out with that and just really gave us honest insight on any possible future repairs that may be needed along with anything else we needed to look out for. Great work, personable people that are honest while doing work at a fair price. Would highly recommend them and will have them come out for anything we my need in the future.

Ill give John R. Theriot 5 stars all day every day. He was nice enough to come out as late as our call to him just to look at our A/C after it went out and fixing our problem as quickly as he did. He was extremely professional, informative, dependable, punctual and most of all honest and affordable through the whole experience. He just came out on a Sunday afternoon when my house is reading 87°, and I was his 17th call for the day at 6 o’clock at night. John Theriot is just amazing. Last summer when our AC unit failed, he got it up and running in less than an hour (when a few others said that it could not be fixed). He explains the problem very well and provides all options. He installed a new AC unit this week and quality of work is fantastic.

John Theriot is a family friend and the absolute best man in the business. He will NEVER try and make you pay a higher price or get you to commit to something unnecessarily. I called him in tears because I had someone tell me I needed a new system which they quoted at $15k. He sent Kevin over and he took care of me for nowhere near $15k. Have had zero issues since they came to fix it and my energy bill has gone way down. Dont use anyone else. Ever.

I have finally found an HVAC company I can trust! John Theriot and Kevin Voigt are true professionals. Kevin was able to quickly identify the reason my AC unit was not cooling. John sent me a detailed written proposal designed to correct the problem at a very reasonable cost. Unlike other HVAC companies I have dealt with, neither John or Kevin tried to up sell me on equipment/features I did not need. They did exactly what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. Their crew worked efficiently and effectively and had me back up and running in no time.
