Jose with Red Star Cooling and Heating has been absolutely awesome! After two other failed attempts by other companies, we finally found Red Star. And Jose made every attempt to solve our issue! And did!! He is knowledgeable and efficient, professional and friendly. My husband and I are both very happy with the work he did in our office and our home. Red Star has definitely earned our business thanks to Jose!

This company is on their way to redeeming themselves in our eyes. A horrible employee that oversaw the installation of ducting, zones, French drain, and other things no longer works there. We actually hope he was terminated since he blew our compressor and said it was struck by lightning. I actually thought he was electocuted when I heard the bang and the flashed. We gave them one last chance only because they had already been to our house at least 8 times since installation. Thankfully, the technician and installer that arrived this time were efficient and effective. They arrived at the front end of the scheduled time window and sent a heads up notification with ETA before arrival. They answered my questions professionally and without sarcasm or being belittling. Plus, the installer cleaned up his mess, much unlike the first group. Keep up the good practices!

Red Star answered my calls on a Sunday and was extremely responsive to arrange for parts and repairs. Other contacted service recommend much higher cost of repair and even had the gaul to suggest replacement of this smaller and a larger system of only 10 years of age.

I was very satisfied with my service. I love how easy the scheduling was & the communication about when they’d arrive etc. I’d definitely recommend & use these guys again.

Our technician came in and was doing a regular maintenance check on the furnace, getting us prepared for winter time, and then asked us if there was anything about the Comfort that he needed to focus on. We informed him that the house was having a lot of humidity issues and told them about us having all the walls formed in, and he quickly came up with a design to help improve the quality of our air in the house. I highly recommend this company for doing quality work to ensure that your AC Comfort is spot on.

Last fall I had my 19 year old AC system replaced. I looked for the BEST Carrier dealership in my neighborhood and picked up Red Star among the best ones. The owner, Joe was a very busy man but he gave me a wonderful option and deal. This brand new system was working great till a week ago. I and my family love its dehumidifier function. This only 1 year old system stopped working all of sudden and I called Red Star right away. They sent Robert, who came to my house for seasonal check up, and he found something wrong with furnace motor. He called the office and they sent out a crew on the next day with a replacement part. I and my family had only a couple days without AC thanks to their prompt service. You can count on Red Star!

Scheduling was easy. Got an appointment next day. The Tech, Robert, was on time friendly, informative and efficient. He had the replacement parts on the truck and fixed the issue quickly. I just wish the price was more reasonable. $25 part (at most), 1 hour of labor at $75 should be $100...maybe $150...not $300.

Red Star did a great job installing a new furnace and A/C unit. They scheduled the install and followup promptly and the entire team did a great job. Kudos to Lee today who did reattached the trim to the attic entry and caulked everything and took the extra step to staple up some insulation batting that qas sagging in the attic. I would definitely recommend Red Star to friends.

After getting 7 quotes from different companies, we decided on Red Star for our total HVAC replacement. Our old AC/Gas Furnace was over 20 years old and desperately needing to be replaced. We purchased a Carrier Infinity Heat Pump, 25 seer system. Austin and his team were very easy to work with, professional, responsive and on time. Austin answered all my questions up front and was able to work with me to fine tune my quote. Once we made our decision go with Red Star, they were able to give us an install date within 2 weeks. They installed our system on a Friday; and it was up and running that night. We expect to save money going forward with our new heat pump system. I highly recommend Red Star Cooling & Heating for any HVAC work.

Best AC company I have experienced. Exceptional customer service, techs, and price. Very honest and forth coming, yet they dont nickle and Dime you. The team is actually there to help us get our problem fixed and get the job done. The first company I called, they showed up with fancy vans and clean clothes and never touched a single equipment and estimated over $4500. I called Red Star, they immediately sent someone over who actually did free diagnostic and got the job done less than a quarter of the cost and most of it was material related. Few days later, I had a clogged drain and they immediately sent another tech. Lee (an amazing man) came over twice and extremely nice and proactive and got the issue resolved. Love you all and I am so extremely proud of what youy all stand for.

These guys (Sebastian!) are truly the best.They’re smart, efficient and hardworking.Their follow-up and service is the best out there. We’re definitely sticking with Red Star for our needs.By the way, the Carrier high seer units we purchased have cut our electric bill already. In April and May 2024 it dropped by $100 a month. Good stuff.

Have been with Red Star since they replaced my HVAC systems ten years ago, and attic ductwork two years ago. Very satisfied

FOLLOW UP:Had an issue with the thermostat holding temperature. Called the service line and explained the problem; the lady taking my call had a service technician call be back within an hour to discuss the issue. Service tech texted a link to a video that walked me through the steps to reset the thermostat. Kudos to the service department and tech for the prompt response and assistance in resolving the problem!__________________________________________Pre-sales consultation was excellent. Joe and Drew worked with me on getting to a price for a new system that I would benefit most from and that fits into my budget.Installation process went well. Crew arrived on time and finished the job in a timely manner.Clean up after job completion could have been much better - sheet metal screws were found on the driveway. Thankfully my tires did not find them before I did. Vacuum cleaner picked up metal screws in the carpet. Metal screws left on attic floor. Attic insulation was tracked through the entry way and the garage.Communication after job completion was poor - at the very least had expected a courtesy call or text just to ensure the job went well and if there were any problems or issues that need to be addressed. Received nothing like that. The installer attempted to explain a couple of features on how the new thermostat worked (english was his second language); I would ask a question and he would basically repeat the same information he just told me. After a couple of rounds of this it was clear this was going no further.All things considered, I would probably use Red Star again. Time will tell . . .

They did an amazing and fast job. They drive to Corpus over night to get my part, and installed it the next morning. Superstars!

We are maintenance plan members who received an appointment the same day we called. Our units, especially our downstairs were struggling to keep temperatures. Our refrigerant levels were topped up to help performance. When I agreed to the service , I was quoted $150/pound. We received 2 pounds 6 oz. and were charged $350. I asked about our membership 10% and was told that was applied already. Our bill doesn’t detail a discount. We’ll need to ask for a service call in two months to check refrigerant levels. Hopefully, we don’t have a bad leak. Service was prompt and courteous. Thanks!

The best HVAC company in the area. Had Joe come out a week ago to address concerns we have about our unit and how we can make it more efficient. I had done research before hand and he talked me out a few things that made sense and would actually save me money. Saw several things that were in good shape and didnt need replacing or were still in good condition. Put together a detailed estimate with everything I asked. He even suggested we do one/two at time which is understanding of him, he gets it. I have had several bad experiences of upselling and pushy HVAC people and Redstar doesnt operate with those tactics. I have to add that I have been using Redstar for over 7 years. Never had an issue. They are reliable, knowledgeable and understanding that home owners have so much upkeep.

After purchasing a new home, we needed a reliable company to provide routine semiannual maintenance on our HVAC system. As I suspected the developer had installed a undersized A/C condenser. I was given the correct specifications and subsequently had the appropriate one installed. Upon the first inspection we chose to purchase an upgrade to the system and look forward to receiving the professional service weve received to date. Revised to reflect our mid-year winter service. Robert was courteous & professional.

Within a business day, my AC went from clogged to cleared! I didnt even say it was an emergency, and they had someone in my house within a day of submitting on their site.Robert was professional, quick, and friendly. He told me what he was doing every step of the way and never made me feel like I didnt understand what was going on. He even advised what to do for preventive maintenance to avoid this issue in the future.Im very impressed by how quickly everything was handled, especially in Houston during the summer. Ill be entrusting my AC to them from now on.

I am so thankful for Red Star!! I have their maintenance contract now. They have been taking care of my AC repair and maintenance needs for several years now. Most recently my unit outside packed up on Sunday. They had replaced the attic unit a few years ago with the forethought and preparation that some day we would have to do the outside unit so it was forward compatible. I am a single mom and am so thankful for all the ways they work to save me money and make things work better and longer and together! They came out yesterday and worked all afternoon and into the evening in the heat and got us up and running again. Even installed a fancy new wifi thermostat to bring me in to the modern times. All at a super great price!! :) The one I had was probably 30 years old or more. Today I sit in the cool to write up this review. Thank you, Red Star!!

Robert was our technician and came out on a Sunday due to a recurring issue with our unit. He was extremely knowledgeable and honest. While at our home he called the owner, Joe, and spoke with him on several times. Each time, we were included in the conversation and felt as if there was not any secrecy or trying to be sneaky on what was discussed/what we needed done. Robert also offered to accommodate our work schedule for the repair that is needed. Really exceptional customer service!

Red Star Heating and Cooling repaired my Carrier 4 ton air conditioner. Their customer service is one of the best I have ever experienced. They went way beyond my expectations in resolving my AC issue. I will definitely have them service my Carrier air conditioners in the future.

I originally had an appointment with another company and they said I needed a $2,130.00 repair. But Red Star fixed the problem for $ 275.00.In this time of crazy prices, I really appreciate Drew with Red Star!!!He fixed the problem rather than trying to sell me something.

Red Star has installed/replaced both of our units since we bought our 20+ YO townhome 7 years ago. We needed to replace our thermostat on the 3rd floor, and they scheduled an appointment within 24 hours and actually arrived early! Took 30 minutes to replace. Very happy with their service overall.

Initially spoke with Joe the owner and then met with Carlos regarding the downstairs furnace giving issues. I cant say enough good things about how amazing their office has treated me. Carlos was so knowledgeable and detailed about the various options available and working with me on a quote, I truly valued his insight. Went ahead and had the system replaced at my parents house with Red Star and the service has been phenomenal so far, feels as if Joe and Carlos are family at this point. I have been using red star since they installed my unit in 2016. They have always performed excellently. Jose recently installed a new motor in the heater. He arrived on time and worked diligently until he fixed the problem.. I recommend the firm.

So had a new AC unit installed April 30th and today my house went warm ... 1st day of 90+ degrees. Called and Robert was here within 3 to 4 hours on a Saturday night I might add, and kept in good contact with me until he could get here to assess the situation and got it running and everyone was so nice and kind and caring and so far so good. Its under warranty for a long time so I know these guys will take care of me and thats all I need to know. These are definitely my AC / heating guys! Highly recommend.

I requested an annual ac maintenance checkup on Sunday night 5/26 and was scheduled for the appointment on 5/28. Before the appointment time, there was severe thunderstorm in our area and their office called to reschedule the appointment to 5/29 which I strongly agreed because of technician safety.Robert Dean showed up on scheduled time and was very friendly and professional. He checked the compressor and the condenser units thoroughly. He also answered a lot of my questions on ac maintenance and gave me a lot of suggestions to prolong the lifespan of the ac unit. What a wonderful experience with Red Star! Our condenser unit was failing (of course on a holiday weekend) and thankfully Red Star had the equipment we needed and was able to squeeze us in for a same day repair! I can’t thank them enough for going that extra mile and saving our weekend!

Quick appointment and timely arrival. Listened to issues and fixed problem without overcharging!

My issue is mostly with Carrier, not Red Star. We waited weeks and weeks for a part that was never delivered. They offered a substitute part that didnt solve the problem. Out of frustration, I replaced the whole outside unit.

I sent inquiries out to five different AC service companies in the north DFW area, and Red Star was the only one to respond within 72 hours. I had them come out to check my AC unit (it’s a newer unit, not giving me any problems, but I just wanted to check up on it to protect my investment), and Michael the Technician came out. He was prompt, courteous, answered all my questions, and gave my AC unit a clean bill of health (and he made sure that my unit had been registered with the manufacturer for any future warranty needs). I signed up for their semi-annual maintenance plan for only $15 a month.

Robert showed up on time and prepared to do the job. He replaced our thermostat quickly and efficiently, and patiently answered all questions that we asked. Before doing the work, he came and gave us a free estimate. The price he quoted was the price we paid. I highly recommend Robert and RedStar.

We cant say enough good things about this company beginning with the ladies who answer the phone to the men who come out to do the work -- top notch from beginning to end. If you need service, Andrew is definitely the one to ask for. He is extremely knowledgeable about how HVAC works. He makes sure you understand why certain work should be done for your system to operate properly and wants you to be comfortable with your decision. After the work is done, he calls the next day to make sure all is working fine! He is always available if there is a question or problem. We have complete confidence in Red Star.

I just had a service call from Red Star on my hot water heater. As always the guys who came out were friendly and nice. But the office could use some improvements are whomever sends out notification of appt and arrival time needs improvement. I was confused this time of arrival times. But they do excellent work. I recommend 100%.

All questions and concerns were answered. I knew up front what needed to be done and why and what it would cost. I am disabled and Austin went out of his way to make sure to show me pictures so I didn’t have to go outside to unit and did everything possible to assist me. I can honestly say this is one of the best service experiences that I’ve had while dealing with home repairs. Joe was able to come out and diagnose the issue with my 18 year old systems. After talking about how to fix them we then discussed the replacement option. I felt overly comfortable with proceeding due to Joe’s expertise and willingness to answer all of my questions. (The other 2 companies that came out seemed more focused on just overselling and not finding the right solution for my home). The technicians showed up Saturday just as planned at the time scheduled and were able to complete that day. They were respectful of my home and laid drop cloths everywhere. This is one of the best HVAC companies I have ever worked with. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They know what they do, which is not very common with some of the HVAC companies. Andrew is the best technician. He diagnosed the issue with my unit in no-time despite the fact that another technician from another company wasted hours and failed to diagnose the main issue. He gave me a big credit after knowing that I paid large some to another company and they caused the damage. I highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs. You can hardly find honest and skillful businesses nowadays and they are certainly one of the best in the area.

I recently had redstar come out several times. Most of the time they are really great to work with, Lee was amazing with this final install. Joe cut me a great deal on replacing my old busted units, but they have some issues with communication, or maybe I need to just call more. Regardless, good people work here and the prices overall are better than most places Ive tried.

Our old AC system was trash. The good folks at Red Star made it all better. Carlos, Amber, Joe, Jay, Miles, and Julio, just flat fixed us up. We needed help and this company was there for us. Carlos took a personal interest in ensuring I and my family got the very best a contractor could offer. Their experience as a Presidents class Carrier dealer and service organization is proof positive regarding their extensive knowledge and ability as a premier HVAC contractor. No corners are cut, only quality materials are used, work is quick and efficient, and cleaned up neat as a pin after. Are these folks the cheapest out there? I have no idea and dont care. Red Stars pricing for the quality of work is competitive and the value is evident in the teams service delivery. I dont know yet what routine maintenance plans Red Star recommends, but Ill ask Carlos to advise whats best, hell honestly answer any questions I have, and then Ill ask him to sign me up.Seriously - just use Red Star Cooling and Heating. Great service my unit was non-operational with a bad fan motor capacitor that the the repairman spotted right away only took about 45 minutes for the total job. Great work will recommend. I choose Red Start because they are recommended as 5 Start Vendor.

We use Red Star for our AC and heater checkups throughout the year. The staff is professional. I find it easy to schedule service via phone. I appreciate the maintenance reminders. We just had the AC cleaned in attic that had some mold and air scrubber installed.

Our A/C unexpectedly stopped blowing cold air on a Saturday. We called Joe on Sunday morning and he sent a tech out (Carlos) almost immediately. We didn’t have to wait long. We were more than happy to pay a fee to receive service on a Sunday but other companies were wanting to charge $150 or more. The fee from Red Star was less than half of that. Carlos came out and was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained exactly what was wrong and was completely transparent about the pricing and materials used. We’ve had A/C work at our home before and found out later that we paid for parts and service we didn’t need so it was reassuring to see Carlos explain everything required so we could understand and make an informed decision. Thank you to Carlos and Joe for running an honest and reputable company and I’ve already chatted with Carlos about having them complete another zoning project for us in the near future. Joe and his team at Red Star always do a prompt and thorough job. Our house was 30 years old when we purchased it and we knew the AC and furnaces were on their last legs but they always repaired them timely and efficiently and advised when they were ready to be replaced. The prices they provide for the replacements are very competitive for an excellent job and I have now replaced 2 furnaces and 1 AC with them. Highly recommend them to anyone in The Woodlands area.

This company is by far the best in Houston. I contacted them around 9pm on a Sunday and had someone at my house Monday morning at 9am. The technician was super friendly, and very knowledgeable, and explained everything to me to a “T”. He made sure that I understood what was wrong with the unit, showed me the parts, explained what he was going to do, and even cleaned the outside unit so l felt at ease. Within 30 mins he had my AC up and running and it’s blowing colder then before!!! I was even charged lower than what I was expecting to pay. HVAC replacement, two complete systems. As promised. Well done!!A. Belvin made mistakes completing registration paperwork, and came to correct, but was confused by model numbers. He mentioned that one of the two units Red Star installed is “builders grade”, but verbally assured me that it was the same quality as “regular”. He promised to put that in writing via email the same day, but after three days has not.

Austin was quick and efficient. Good communication. Rolling blackouts from ERCOT caused systems to shut down. Austin recommended how to reset systems if it happens again. Good people to work with.

Our an a/c unit did not work today. i called red star Saturday morning, technician came 4 hours later. they fix the one unit that did not working and also checked the other one and found a potential problem then fixed it too.

This is the first review I have written about a company, but when you find an honest and superior company you want to tell people about it. I have been a customer of Red Star Cooling & Heating for about 14 years. I called them after getting an exorbitant estimate to replace my furnace by another company. Joe Diaz, with Red Star gave a better price, better warranty, and wowed me with his professionalism and knowledge. A few years later I had him replace my old air conditioning condenser and coils. As usual the quality of work was exceptional are reasonably priced. They also go out of their way to educate the customer and find the most affordable solution to heating and air conditioning problems. Joe has come to my house after hours, when I’ve had a problem, because he is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. Yesterday my house wasn’t cooling well and Carlos Rivera Jr. came out. With the temperatures well into the 90’s, I was desperate for a solution. Rather that try to sell me a new system or quote a huge repair, Carlos explained it was a maintenance problem that was taxing my air conditioner. He showed me how dirty the air filter and condenser were, and explained in detail the steps I should take to keep my system working at top performance. He cleaned the unit and air return without charging extra. As he left he assured me that if I had any more problems he was available anytime. With something as important as heating and air conditioning it is a comfort to have a company like Red Star that is honest and treats their customers like family.

We recently had repairs and upgrades done on our home HVAC system. The technician was very competent and professional, and completed the repairs quickly and completely. He allowed us to run the upgraded system for a full week to ensure we were fully satisfied before paying. The ten-year parts and labor warranty, and no-charge first year inspection were also a plus. After the first week he returned to the house, checked everything and even left us his phone number. We are very pleased with our decision to have Red Star, and their technician Drew, handle the work we required. If this was a ten point system, they definitely would have earned ten stars from us.

I like Red Star because they can and do respond quite quickly when things go wrong with the systems in our house. Ive rarely had to wait more than 1 day and most of the time can get someone the same day if its a critical issue to deal with.

Ive never worked with such a customer-friendly AC company that recognizes AC repairs in the Texas heat as an urgent need for families. I called the 24/7 line at 11:00 PM at night in July expecting to just leave a message for the office to call me in the morning. However, someone answered the line and set me up with an appointment for the next morning from 8-10. They then offered to bring a portable AC unit to keep us comfortable for the evening. Someone came by after midnight and set up the portable unit to keep us comfortable until they arrived the next morning at 8:30 AM. The capacitor was replaced within minutes to get the unit cooling, and further repairs happened later in the day. The portable unit was set up at no charge as a courtesy for working with them. Everyone I spoke to and worked with was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Red Star has an excellent team, competitive pricing, rapid response time, and a dedication to customer service that Ive never seen in a home repair company. Ill never call anyone else for cooling and heating needs.

My tech was Ryan. He was very pleasant upon his arrival. Asked me a few questions and got right to it. I had 2 previous techs come from a completely different company and the issue was not resolved. He not only fixed what was wrong with my furnace but was very informative. I will use him again regarding any future issues. I felt confident in his expertise 7 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Our ac went out on Saturday and I called Red Star on Sunday and spoke to the owner directly and he answered all the questions I had and sent Carlos out almost immediately to check on our ac unit. Carlos was very kind and knowledgeable and explained to us in detail what was going on with the unit. When our unit went out again on Tuesday, Carlos came back and diagnosed the problem and thoroughly explained the quote given to us. When we agreed to go forward with repairs, we were given 2 portable ac coolers until the work could be done the next day which was amazing of them to do given we have 2 small children and the temperature inside our home was 85 degrees. Jay came at the exact time that our appointment was set and was also friendly and courteous. We cannot thank Red Star enough for getting our ac back up and running and will recommend them to anyone who may need ac work done in the future! Y’all are awesome!

Red Star is awesome!!!! Had a problem with a new upstairs AC unit not coming on and gave them a call. Joey and I think Rob helped me diagnos the problem over the phone and talked me through a easy repair till I can get the installers of the new AC to come and do maintenance. Thanks Guys. When the warranty runs out I will be giving these guys a call.
