Eric H just completed the most comprehensive air conditioning check that I’ve had since moving to Houston. He even replaced the filter in a difficult spot that other companies wouldn’t touch in the past. I highly recommend them!

Fast service and quality equipment! They were in and out in a fraction of the estimated time. Would hire these guys any day of the week moving forward!

I have three a/c units 3.5, 2.5 and 2.0ton. The 3.5 and 2.5 units were 20 year old units. The 2.0 was installed about 6 years ago. I called Douglas Mechanical and purchased their maintenance plan to come and look at all three units. Chris showed up prompt and on time. He went through every unit with great detail. When he was done after inspecting all units we sat down and he explained that the 3.5 unit could probably make it through another summer. The problem was that because it was 20 years old, it was not functioning at it max capacity and straining the 2.5 unit that was 20 years old as well but had a new fan motor replaced. He showed me in great detail my options. He was extremely knowledgeable and by no means made me feel that I needed to purchase a new unit. I did however decide to purchase and replace my 20 year old 3.5 ton unit. They scheduled the installation team the following day. The install team was on time and did and incredible job. They did however accidentally hit a line on my 2.5 ton unit while up in the attic. The install team did not have the actual hose to repair but they did acknowledge that it needed to be replaced. After speaking with Sean at the home office he was able to find a technician to come out and repair the 2.5 ton on the same day. Aaron was the technician that showed up. He arrived at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. Had a great attitude even though it was almost 5 on a Friday. Aaron was great. Not only did he fix the issue with the 2.5 ton he reviewed the new 3.5 ton unit that was installed earlier that afternoon. I can not tell you how pleased I am with this company. There are alot of companies that would not even had said anything about damaged line on the 2.5. I think this speaks to the integrity of Douglas Mechanical. I will be buying a new 2.5 unit next year from them. I will also recommend them to any of my family or friends that are in need of a new unit or simply a service update.

Alex was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. From the moment he entered our home, he put on booties, and got to business. He was very thorough and checked multiple points when diagnosing the problem, making sure he fully understood how the system was installed and how it was setup.He was able to diagnose the issue with my Trane system and clearly articulate what the next steps were and ensure that we were aware of what the problem was.Douglas mechanical did not install the system and is not my regular maintenance company. They stepped up when my regular company was not available and fit us into their schedule. When I reached out to them, the person who took my call was also thorough in understanding my situation, covering multiple questions, which helped set the technician up with a good understanding of what to expect.I am very pleased with my first experience with Douglas mechanical and will highly consider them to be my regular HVAC maintenance company.

Alex was really good and helpful. He was very efficient in checking the AC heating for my primary home. He also was very helpful and very prompt in arriving at my rental property and then fixing and checking out the basic heating components for that house really happy with this professionalism and his promptness

I had Douglas Mechanical install a new unit in February - they were quick, efficient and professional and created a system of ensuring that the purchase was always operational and maintained for peak performance. I used this system today when I called because the AC wasnt cooling below 73 degrees. Eric H came out to take a look and took care of the issue in record time! I had an excellent repair experience today with Kyle from Douglas Mechnical. I called their office at 8 AM, and he was at my home before Noon. Quickly found the issue (thankfully it was relatively basic) and educated me on the what-and-why of the repair. He was prompt, cordial, and efficient. Alex did an excellent job diagnosing my Furnace also he recommended a plan to save money where they can maintain my AC and heater . They came over the same day I called.

He was able to diagnose the issue, and provided several options, from just the most basic repair, to the benefits of replacing additional worn components. Given the age of the system, we opted to replace the entire unit. Also got a fantastic price as well! Furthermore, they offer an excellent warranty on both parts and labor.After closing the deal, they had an installer crew here the very next day. We had an issue with our system and met with Dave. He took the time to make sure we had the correct size, supply and return of air in our home. We replaced two complete systems and the technicians were outstanding. The systems are working great and we can feel the difference. Everyone on the team did a great job!

Jonathan came out to fix our AC last week. He showed up on time, and was polite and friendly. He replaced the capacitor in the unit that wasn’t running and also checked our second unit and found it wasn’t blowing as cold as it should be. After my family had spent two days and nights in a house with rooms ranging from 81-94 degrees, Jonathan had both units running and blowing cold air again in under an hour! He even let my toddler lead him around by the hand as he checked to make sure the vents had cold enough air blowing through in a few rooms. Overall very fast and effective service and the nicest technician we could ask for! Much better than the experience we had two years ago with another company.

Jonathan came out to do a maintenance check of my AC unit and repair an AC drain line clog. He offered excellent advice and my unit is working great in preparation of the spring Texas heat. Jonathan represented Douglas Mechanical in a great way through is explanations of what maintenance while not being pushy like some HVAC providers. It looks like it may be a hot summer and thanks to this tuneup from Douglas Mechanical I feel I’m in good shape for it.

My experience started with a call from Jamie, my American Home Shield liason, to inform me of my upcoming AC service call, and all that it would entail. She was very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. Jamie scheduled my service call with Michael.Michael arrived in the time frame that was offered to me. He was very friendly and professional. (Im sorry it was so hot in the attic, but Michael kept a smile on his face). He explained the problems to me in lay- person language and I appreciated it. We had an appointment on 4/22/2024. The technician, Dave Dallas was very professional and honest. He explained everything that was going on and what was needed to be done. He did not pressure us into anything. He gave us several options and prices. We agreed to have our unit serviced and it was scheduled for the next day. Dave Dallas came by and had a look because the installer wasnt aware of a 2nd drain and Dave took care of it himself and advised that he keeps his word. About a week later another person came to make sure the work had been done correctly. Update: Had a system problem and Jared came out and troubleshot it quickly and thoroughly, and fixed me up with some replacement hardware. Douglas continues to be my go-to for heating and cooling.Aaron met with me and explained the benefits of installing one of the Trane systems versus a “band aid” on a builder system that had gone down twice in two years. I was sold and the appointment was made in three days. Enrique and his partner showed up and did a great job.. finishing on time. They also found and corrected two flaws in my ducts that had been costing me money for years. Hire these guys.. you won’t regret it.

Of course our 18 year old AC unit decided to completely fail when the temp is over 100° outside. I called Douglas Mechanical and they sent Aaron out to diagnose. He did a thorough investigation & confirmed our suspicion - we needed a new unit! He gave us a few recommendations on what needed to be replaced (compressor, coils, and a few other pieces) & we decided to just do the whole thing at once! He sent Billy to our home to talk about our options, financing & scheduling. Billy came to our house same day and got our order in for the very next day! Billy was very knowledgeable on all the options, kept our budget in mind (we were pleasantly surprised to stay WAY under budget). Carlos & his crew arrived on time the next morning & they were complete before lunch time! My house is cooler than ever! I contacted American Home Shield on 4-3-2024 at 3:23 pm for appointment. Scheduled for 4-8-2024 between 2pm and 8pm. Issue with tech and had to reschedule for 4-10-2024 between 12pm and 8pm. Tech came at 1:30 pm and took care of A/C check up. Tech was nice and professional and did a great job. Happy with Douglas Mechanical 👍

Eric did an excellent job of our semi-annual check up. A little disappointed in the company as it took them 2 years to install the UV light after installation of unit. No tech had mentioned it before I called to ask about it. Now the light has burned out. Not replacing a $250 light bulb.

Working with Douglas Mechanical & American Home Shield with a home warranty coil replacement. Without going into all the details, I will tell you I am amazed and astounded by the proactive steps Douglas Mechanical took to get the problem handled. We even received a call from the owner (very unusual and unexpected) to discuss the situation and what options might be available. The main delay was because of the home warranty restrictions and processes. They have been extraordinary in their efforts to get the repair finished in an extremely expedited fashion. Eric arrived within the scheduled window and immediately jumped into action to determine the cause of our A/C outage ((during heat index temperatures of 200°F). He checked the outside A/C unit, inside thermostat, attic system and other possible issues. He methodically came to the conclusion that the capacitor was faulty. He had a new capacitor and installed it. Problem solved! Our A/C kicked on immediately and began to cool the house again. The service performed was a tune up to the heating. The technician arrived on time for the appointment, he was very professional, attentive, he explained the entire procedure to me and resolved my doubts. everything was working correctly. In addition to the good work, he solved another very simple problem for me (adjusting the A/C evaporator upper cover screws) at no cost.

Douglas Mechanical’s technicians all truly know their trade. From the technician who came out to diagnose the issue to the 2 technicians who came out to install the new air handler that was needed, they were extremely patient and answered all of my questions and helped me to understand how my ac unit works. This is the mark of a true professional who understands their trade. Huge kudos to Byron and Otto for not only doing a great job, but also to Otto for taking the time to doing an amazing job reconnecting the air duct (something all other techs in the past never did a good job of) and also to Byron for choosing to come back out on a warmer day to make sure the Freon level was accurate when the temperature was warmer (it was too cool to get accurate readings on the day of the install). This was the third company to come about my ac/ heating issue. The fan wasn’t blowing. The first guy thought he fixed the problem, the second wasn’t familiar with a smart thermostat, and told me I needed a HVAC technician. Briar is such an asset to their company. I had called in about this same issue and although another company came out and said everything was fine they sighted a whole other issue and did nothing to resolve the problem. When the tech from Douplas came out not only was he able to find out all the issues that were present he resolved the ones to get me back up and running. There was an appointment for the next day but I wasn’t available so we set it up for the day after. My thermostat was old and needed to be replaced. Douglas Mechanical ,Inc installed a complete A/C unit with all the bells and whistles at our house, Travis the sales person was outstanding sold a excellent unit we are well pleased, Joe the installers foreman made sure that the installers had every thing they needed to do the job. Carlos H and his work crew came in early Monday morning and completed the installation in a very timely manner , they were very detailed and professional, they also cleaned up after completing the job.

We were without A/C in the record heat. Rudy and his partner came out and worked to get us up and running again, working out in the heat. They were prompt, polite, and explained what they worked on and how to maximize our efficiency for our new unit. Rudy also came back to make sure everything was extra secure. Our a/c unit failed a couple of weeks after moving in to our new townhome and was blowing only warm air on Friday evening. The technician was professional and discussed the issue and replaced the part that had failed. He was courteous and personable. He also said he would have someone send me an estimate for adding 1000 ft of additional insulation, blown into the attic. When the air conditioning and heating systems were replaced the company did not replace where they had removed insulation a few years ago.

I cannot express how much I appreciate the time and effort the team at Douglas put in to get our AC back running during this heat wave. Especially Joe Gonzales. I was very impressed with my technician, Rider. He was very professional and clean and thorough. He explained all of the issues I was experiencing and showed where the norms should be. He also took pictures of everything he saw upstairs, which really helped - and was the first time I’ve had this extra service. It really helped me with my decisions on what I needed to do. I definitely think he is meant for management one day and maybe even higher status, and I recommend him for any body needing help on their service issues.Also, the manager Ron, was exceptional.
